Gentle Scars

Gentle Scars is the second book in the To Be Claimed series by Willow Winters. This is not a stand alone book, I definitely believe that you need to read the first book, Wounded Kiss, in order to properly appreciate this book. I was so excited to read this book as the first book has quite the cliff hanger, in the sense that it just starts to tell the story and then stops, cold turkey. I was panicked at first that they weren’t going to finish the first story line as the book starts off introducing us to a third couple. Thankfully, that is not the case. All of the story lines weave together… and leave us with another cliff hanger. Screams in angst.
Gentle Scars, as mentioned, is the second book in the To Be Claimed series. In the first book, Wounded Kiss, we were introduced to Lizzie, Caleb and Dom and Grace and Devin. In this book we get to hear Veronica and Vince’s story as well. When we last saw, well heard about, Vince in the first book he was MIA after looking for his mate. In Gentle Scars we find out what happened to Vince and his mate. It turns out she is a vampire who was there to reach out to his wolf pack to ask for assistance. Obviously nothing ever happens that easily and complications arise. We get to follow all three of the very spicy relationships that each group has while we learn how they deal with the changes in their lives and conflicts that are coming to the surface.
I really liked this book, I might have loved it if it wasn’t for the cliffhanger. I can not wait until the next book comes out I need to know how the story ends. This book is for you if you’re aren’t faint of heart. This is a very spicy meatball. The book contains some violence, reference to past sexual abuse and many varied sex scenes along with a small story line that includes shifters, humans, and vampires, mates, going into heat and oh wait, I’m supposed to be talking about the story not the spicy bits. It is a good story but let’s be honest, this book is mostly there for the spice.
